Our Newest Product - Force Accounting™ Use of Force Tracking Software
The idea for the Force Accounting™ came about as a result of Use of Force lawsuit naming the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. The legal group representing the Sheriff's Office requested an accounting of all use of force incidents of a particular classification, specifically "pursuits." The good news was - they were able to produce the information since they had been documenting their Use of Force incidents for almost six years. The bad news was that all the information was handwritten and stored in hardcopy files. The Lieutenant heading up the professional standards unit (PSU), and his secretary had to read every single handwritten Use of Force form to see if it fit the need. Frustrated at the waste of their valuable time, the Lt. suggested a UOF computer tracking system. In market research that followed, we read the excellent research study by the IACP titled "Police Use of Force in America 2001," and realized what a wealth of training, safety, and risk management data could be captured from each UOF report. A Force Accounting™ prototype complete with an extensive report capability was developed and is in use at Douglas County Sheriff's Office today.
