CrossWind Technologies uses leading edge technology to create simple, effective real-world solutions using open, standards-based technologies.
Since 2006, we have focused on the law enforcement market. Law enforcement agencies are currently facing a rapidly changing information landscape armed with decades-old software technology. We believe that our technology will provide a ten-fold improvement on operations efficiency at half the price of current solutions. More importantly, it will provide law enforcement agencies the ability to stay ahead of the curve.
CrossWind Technologies, Inc. was founded in 1989 to develop high availability, networked productivity applications for Fortune 1000 companies and the Federal markets both nationally and internationally. Our award winning Synchronizeª line of Group Calendaring and Scheduling products enjoyed many technology firsts, including being the first ever commercial Motif application to market (in any category) as well as the first ever client-server groupware application (in any category) on the market.
Our client-server architecture enabled our solution to grow to meet the needs of expanding organizations. Our customer sites include installations with as few as ten users, to sites with thousands of users. Our diverse customer base included technology companies such as Intel, Motorola, Hewlett-Packard and Siemens-Nixdorf, universities such as Carnegie Melon, University of California Regents, MIT, government agencies such as the NSA, IRS and the Australian Army and telecom such as Nortel Networks and Bell South. The largest Synchronize installation was part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) workgroup automation project, where CrossWind partnered with IBM to supply Synchronize as a key component in a geographic information system for 30,000 Forest Service employees in 795 locations.
Our next generation product, CyberScheduler for NTª was introduced as the first ever web-enabled group calendar on the market. In 1997, CrossWind introduced the first ever Linux groupware product on the market with CyberScheduler for Linuxª. In 1999, CrossWind was acquired by Kronos, Inc. (NYSE: KRON) for the TimeCard Expressª technology, a Microsoft Outlook¨ based time and billing product for office workers. After technology integration with Kronos, Inc. was completed in 2001, CrossWind and the Synchronize product line were spun off, with the original founders, as an independent entity.
In 2006, CrossWind developed FACTS-Use of Force Reportingª with Douglas County SheriffÕs Office, NV to provide a Best Practices method of tracking and reporting Use of Force incidents to enable agencies to be responsive to trends and patterns and to target safety and training needs for officers. In 2010, CrossWind began working with Burlington Police Department, VT to develop VALCOURª the first completely web-enabled CAD/RMS solution for the law enforcement market.
