Create a Recurring Calendar Item
- In the Day-at-a-Time, click once on an existing calendar item to select it, or do the following when you are creating a new calendar item in its respective editor.
- From the Options menu, choose Recurring. Synchronize displays the Recurring Calendar Item dialog box. Initially, parts of the dialog box are grayed out because they don't apply to the item as currently scheduled.
- Specify the interval in which the item should recur using the Recursion Interval list. By default, Non-recurring is displayed in the Recursion Interval list.
- Schedule the recurring item. For example, if you set the recursion interval to Monthly, you may schedule the item in one of three ways listed in the table.
- Set the range of dates in which the item will recur. The start date defaults to the date displayed in the Day-at-a-Time. You may change the start and end dates by highlighting the month, day or year in the Start date and End date fields and using the up and down arrows to move forward and backwards.
- If the recursion interval you chose in step 3 could schedule the item on a non-workday such as a weekend day, and you want the item automatically rescheduled, click Reschedule and then click Nearest workday, Previous workday or Next workday.
- Click OK to close the Recurring Calendar Item dialog box.
- If you are creating a new recurring calendar item in an editor, click Add. If you are making an existing calendar item resurring from the Day-at-a-Time, choose Modify from the Edit menu. Synchronize displays three additional choices in a dialog box:
- Click Just this once to add the recurring item on this date only.
- Click All recurring to add all occurances.
- Click Future recurring only to add occurances from this date forward.
Synchronize will not add occurances of a recurring event to a user's calendar if that user has disallowed overbooking and the event occurance(s) would result in overbooking. Synchronize displays a message that states there are overbooking conflicts, lists the user names and dates, and asks if it is OK to remove the conflicting events. If you click OK, Synchronize schedules only the occurances of this event that do not result in overbooking.
- Click Dismiss to close the calendar item's editor.
